ALZHEIMER'S MIND BODY EDUCATION & RESOURCES (AMBER)

Welcome to our website. With a vast amount of resources available online to caregivers and those living with Early Onset Alzheimer’s disease (EOAD), our organization decided to switch things up! Every volunteer that works with with you holds the title of, and have been trained as a Certified Dementia Practitioner. They have earned a level of patience that can only be achieved through helping others living with Dementia. No volunteer has been thrown into a position of unawareness of the disease or it’s symptoms and practice based on person centered care. Our goal is to help the individual diagnosed and their caregivers make informed decisions. Being able to age in place while maintaining your independence is just as important to our organization as it is to those seeking service.

To minimize the cost of care AMBER’s services are brought to you in the comfort of your home and at your convenience. We are currently providing non-medical respite services to the areas of Smyth and Washington County, Virginia. Our staff maintains safety measures during the COVID pandemic and do their part to keep you safe. When it comes time to choose other alternatives you want to be able to trust your loved one with other organizations who are strong advocates in Alzheimers care.

Alzheimer’s Mind Body Education and Resources (AMBER) has a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer on staff and provides the required seminar needed to individuals who are qualified and want to become Certified Dementia Practitioners. This is a great service offered to businesses who are providing Alzheimer’s services and who want to invest in their staff.

AMBER offers online support groups to both caregivers and those diagnosed. We provide well-being checks on families for caregivers who live away and want the comfort of knowing someone is checking on their loved one weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. We help with education and resources. It is our goal to provide inclusion of services whenever possible. Although some services are not available all the time, it would not be unreasonable to do an occasional grocery delivery, for example.

AMBER is here for you. You are not alone. Explore our website and feel free to take advantage of our support groups and community events. We are here for you.
