"Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia Care"

Take the path to certification as a CDP. This is the required seminar for those pursuing certification and who qualify. Please see the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (www.NCCDP.org) to view the tracks, or just come for the education.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
-- To provide essential education on dementia and
dementia care
-- To learn alternative activity interventions that are
success-oriented and failure-free
-- To foster sensitivity and respect for the dementia patients
-- To teach communication techniques
-- To learn how to develop a Wandering Preparedness Team
-- To enhance the quality of life of dementia patients
through educating care providers
-- To address issues of sexuality and the dementia patient
-- To provide sensitive approaches for assisting patients with
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
-- To describe challenges related to caregiver stress and
utilize stress reduction techniques
-- To identify common causes of aggressive, repetitive, and
sun-downing behaviors in older adults
-- To describe challenges related to caregiver stress and
utilize stress reduction techniques
-- To address end-of-life care

REGISTRATION AND FEES:
Seminars are $185 per person. Upcoming Seminars will be posted under the community tab on the home page.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS:
7.0 continuing education credits are approved with the following:
--Nevada Board of Social Work
--Nursing CE Contact Hours are available through CEU
Network

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
--Registration begins at 7:00 am: class begins at 7:30 am
and ends at 5:00 pm
--The Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Seminar is
$185 and includes notebook / handouts and light
refreshments during the registration
--Lunch is on-your-own (one hour)
--A registration confirmation will be sent to you along with
directions to the training site. Once payment is received,
you are enrolled unless otherwise notified
--Alzheimer's Mind Body Education & Resources (AMBER)
has the right to cancel seminars based on insufficient
enrollment.
--Registrations who need to cancel must provide written
notice no later than 48 hours in advance of seminar date
to amber@alzheimers-amber.org
--Cancellations are refundable, less an administration fee of
$50.00
--Continuing education credits issued will be cancelled for
non-payment of required fees
--No form of videotaping is allowed: no laptops are allowed
in the training room
